Bubble Tea - More than Blobs!

Last month, the New York Times published an article calling tapioca pearls "blobs" and referred to bubble tea as "exotic." Readers sounded off, and the Times revised their piece, but this much was clear: despite the proliferation of bubble tea beyond Chinatown, Flushing, and Sunset Park, there are still people out there who know nothing about Taiwan’s "National drink."

Let’s fix that, and help bring bubble tea to the crossroads of the world: Times Square. In the first ever NYC bubble tea festival on Sunday, September 24th, a stretch of Broadway right above Times Square will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind festival.

Buy a ticket below or day of (while supplies last) and you’ll be able to sample cups of bubble tea from major players and boutiques in the bubble tea business. Additional drinks will be available for purchase, and also come out for:

* Giant Bubble Tea Cup
* Night Market Style Food
* Hakka Pestle Tea Experience
* Creative Market featuring Arts & Crafts from Taiwan and local artists
* Kids Craft Workshop

Help us bring bubble tea and Taiwan to the world, and show everyone that the drink we love is much more than just blobs!

Event Location: Broadway between 51 st and 52 st, New York, NY (Take BDE to 7 Ave or ACE12 to 50 St)
Event Date & Time: September 24th, 2017. 11AM - 5PM.

We are completely sold out of sampling ticket. All vendors will be selling their regular sized drinks as well.

About Us

"Hello Taiwan" - Organizer of Hello Taiwan Bubble Tea Festival

The origin of Hello Taiwan dates back to 2010, when members of the New York Taiwanese American community sensed a disconnect from younger generations interested in music. The idea to bridge the gap was simple: host a rock concert at the Taiwan Center around Thanksgiving, providing the perfect opportunity to blend community, family, and great music.

‚ÄčThe influence of the concert continued to grow, and in 2012 Taiwanese bands took to the road for an east coast music tour under then "Hello Taiwan Tour" name. The tour was a major success, allowing the artists to promote their music and Taiwan at the same time. The tour has deep ties with the Passport to Taiwan Festival that takes place on Union Square each year to celebrate Taiwanese American Heritage Week designated by the US Congress in 1999.

In 2017, the inaugural Hello Taiwan Festival is organized to promote Taiwan's National Drink - The Bubble Tea and everyone is invited to join the celebration.
